I’m just a local guy that needed several parts laser cut out of a 4’x4’x1/4” plate for a home project. As K&K has grown to a much larger company in the last few years, I wasn’t sure they would be interested in such a small job, but Matt K&K Manufacturing did a great job in a very timely manner for a very reasonable price. I’m very thankful for the first class service K&K provided for me!!

I bought two chipper trucks on the Internet from the Atlanta Kenworth dealership. They connected me with Dan who was nothing but professional and built the two nicest Truck Body’s I’ve ever owned in my 34 years of owning a tree care company. They were on time, on budget and the quality is second to none. I will never buy a truck body anywhere else.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a chipper body, and what is it used for?
A chipper body is an enclosed, high-sided dump body built to catch and haul wood chips coming out of a chipper. Tree care and utility line clearance crews use them because chips fill volume fast and get heavy when wet.

How much does a chipper dump body cost?
Cost depends on capacity, material, hoist selection, and options like toolboxes and rigging storage. A compact chipper body on a one-ton chassis is a different investment than a large capacity medium-duty build.

What capacity do your chipper truck bodies offer?
We build across a range of cubic yard capacities to match crew output and how far you haul between dumps. Bigger is not automatically better, since wet chips can max out your weight rating before the box is full.

What's the difference between a chipper body and a standard dump body?
A chipper body has taller, fully enclosed sides with a roof structure to contain chips, plus reinforced floors and walls for dense wet wood. A standard dump body is open on top for material you load from above. Chipper bodies also include the tool and rigging storage tree crews depend on.

Can chipper bodies be customized for arborist or tree care work?
Yes, and arborist work is what we design them around. Chainsaw storage, rigging and rope compartments, fuel and oil storage, climbing gear lockers, and cone storage all get built in. We can also configure the body around the specific chipper you tow.

Which truck chassis are compatible with chipper truck bodies?
One-ton cab and chassis trucks up through medium-duty Class 4 through Class 7 platforms. Because the body is heavy before you load anything, the chassis rating needs a careful look. We calculate body weight, chip weight, and towing load against GVWR.

Are chipper bodies available in aluminum and steel?
Both. Steel is the common choice because wood and rigging hardware are hard on interior walls. Aluminum saves weight, which returns payload for chips and helps when you are also towing a chipper.
